SPRINT OFFSHORE RANGE
For offshore racing sailors
and demanding regatta sailor
This TRILam range uses our pre-stressed continuous fibre technology, combined with Dyneema filament structures, and laminated with lightweight Utex gauze fabrics or ultra-light non-wovens.
We have ruled out the cut and glue strip technique because it is less durable than continuous filaments. Indeed, discontinuous strips eventually disintegrate under the effect of internal shear forces.
TRILAM
SPRINT OFFSHORE
Unlike filaments cut from filament membranes, the TRILam Sprint Offshore range integrates a mesh of continuous and taut fibers like a piece, a textile grid, a net. This construction does not generate any internal shear force: because the structure balances between each fiber under tension, without fatigue or future weakness.
Mainsails and headsails made in this way are extremely durable and reliable. Their lifespan is 3 to 7 offshore racing seasons. In any case, sails made in TRILam Sprint Offshore will not let you down.
Comfort and performance
The patented TRILam weave in pre-stressed fibers is unique: our robots lay continuous threads in a multi-axial manner and oriented according to the mechanical forces in the sail.
The whole thing is then impregnated with very flexible resin, exactly as for the manufacture of composite materials.
Lighter sails
Our filaments are not cut into strips. Thus, these continuous threads really allow a mechanical strength / weight ratio superior to filament composites of the 3Di or DFi type.
More durable sails
This multi-layer construction is impregnated at the core with very flexible resin and stabilized over time (around 10 years).
Dimensional stability
This composite is hot welded under high pressure to also increase the strength and reliability of the many layers of superimposed fibers.

Trilam Dyneema - Black Technora
This pre-stressed TRILam, which we have been manufacturing since 2011, combines continuous Spectra/Dyneema® fibers in pre-stressed layers with medium-section Black Technora®.
The filaments used are 400 denier, or 400 grams for 9 km of thread.
This range is particularly robust, with highly cut-resistant threads, making the sails almost impossible to tear, even in the event of significant perforations.
It offers excellent performance for flat sails while remaining suitable for reasonable budgets.

Tech. Continuous Filaments
This material combines 10 years of experience in combining small section fibres, such as Spectra/Dyneema®, with Black Technora® in thin pre-stressed layers.
Very fine filaments, less than 100 denier, weigh less than 100 grams for 9 km of thread.
The continuous Dyneema fiber structure guarantees high durability, providing performance and safety for membranes optimized for ocean racing.
The TPI (Trilam Précontraint Isotropic) range is particularly durable, ideal for headsails and downwind sails, thanks to its lightness and flexibility, facilitating their handling.

Tech. curved wires
This material is a simplified and more economical version of TRILam, without prestressed fibers.
It is particularly suitable for sails of boats less than 30-35 feet, with a curved weave.
The addition of one or two Utex makes the sails more precise in shape than Mylar film membranes.
Deformations are also delayed at the ends of the slats and the chafing zones.
