EXCELLENCE WOVEN RANGE

For demanding browsers
in offshore or coastal use

excellence-woven

TRILam Excellence is a curved fiber membrane encapsulated in two taffetas woven from large section yarn resistant to chafing and wear.
It offers a real aesthetic and lightweight alternative to traditional materials.

These materials are particularly interesting on the latest generations of fast cruising boats, but also benefit all large units: speed, precision and stability in the breeze.

TRILam EXCELLENCE TDBT

20 years of know-how

Originally developed for military ballistics, high modulus polyethylene fibers (Spectra® or Dyneema®) have proven to be the most durable for sailmaking. Rot-proof, UV-resistant and lightweight (density of 910 g/liter, lower than that of water), they surpass Kevlar®, Carbon or Vectran® fibers in durability.

However, because polyethylene is a straight chain polymer, it tends to elongate under constant load.

To overcome this defect, we combine these fibers with Black Technora (semi-crystalline), which stabilizes the whole thanks to the core impregnation of our process. The TDBT reference therefore deforms much less over time, preserving the shape of the sail. Its longevity is much greater than “hybrid” woven materials which deform quickly.

The proven and reliable Excellence TDBT range is often used on amateur racing boats (see the video of Stéphane Le Diraison, 4th in the 2015 Route du Rhum in Class 40 with the Excellence TDBT).
